Midwife means "with woman."

Mothewise midwives are experts in natural childbirth. We’re skilled at problem solving, and can often help birthing women avoid problems by attending to basics like hydration, nutrition, positioning and comfort. Because we’re with women throughout labor, the transition to birth is calm, peaceful, and devoid of the last-minute flurry of activity that accompanies hospital birth. We embody the philosophy that honors the ability of each woman to have a deep and meaningful relationship with her midwife.
