Free Early Pregnancy Class and Open House
New Beginnings: FREE Early Pregnancy Class
This class will cover nutritional basics and exercise, as well as suggestions for alleviating common pregnancy discomforts including: morning sickness (nausea), heartburn, & back discomfort. New classes held monthly. Call to reserve your spot. This class is free for the whole community. Next class is Saturday March 20th from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm. Followed by a screening of The Business of Being Born.
A Showing of the The Business of Being Born, a film by Ricki Lake.
Birth is a miracle, a rite of passage, a natural part of life. But birth is also big business. Compelled to explore the subject after the delivery of her first child, actress Ricki Lake recruits filmmaker Abby Epstein to question the way American women have babies. The film interlaces intimate birth stories with surprising historical, political and scientific insights and shocking statistics about the current maternity care system. When director Epstein discovers she is pregnant during the making of the film, the journey becomes even more personal.Should most births be viewed as a natural life process, or should every delivery be treated as a potentially catastrophic medical emergency? This film will be followed by an Open House. 2:00-3:30pm

Please join us on Saturday, March 20th from 3:30- 4:30pm for our Open House. Come meet the midwives, tour the facility, enjoy refreshments, and enter a drawing for a gift basket that includes prenatal massage, yoga classes, and herbal products from Mountain Star Medicinals.
